Please leave a review for Fry Days Fish and Chip Shop

Finally!! Im so happy we have a decent fish and chip shop in St Albans. The image is amazing. Not like a normal take out. I tried the fish and chips the other night and was really amazed at the size of the fish and the taste was beautiful. The chips were also really nice and fresh. Definitely going back there again. Highly Recommended.

A Very Satisfied Customer

I got fish and chips at the new chip shop on London Road. I opted for large cod and chips, and steak pie and large chips. The large chips were massive. The cod had skin on it which put the wife off. I wish the chippies these days would stop serving pukka pies. They are anything but pukka, I’d rather spend a few more pennies and get a decent pie. Frydays are quite expensive compared with other chips shops in town and the minimum charge for delivery is £15 which is £3 more than the Master Fryer who also offer free delivery. Fish, chips, pie and chips was just shy of £13. 4 out of 5 for portion size and taste (fish, not pie). Dropped a star for price.

This new chip shop is a touch above the rest, looks good an tastes even better.!!

George

Excellent service, quick and professional. Fish and Chips nice but overpriced and the chips could do with a bit more cooking.

Wow, firstly the image of the place was amazing and when i went in they was very polite and professional and even on a busy night they took the time to look after all their customers which was a plus for me. The food as well was amazing and probably one of the best fish and chips i've had in St Albans. I would recommend going to this chip shop and i can promise i will be.

They use a separate fryer for the chips whether its that or the type of oil they use they are the best chips I’ve eaten. Fresh, fluffy and crispy. The vinegar is not watered down like other chippies either. Well worth a re-visit when in town.

What a touch.!!!..... a slice of lemon with the fish an chips...how fantastic is that this place has got a future am sure to go back.

Joe

WOW!!!!!!! They were good, the first time I’ve been in to this new shop and i was blown away by the portion sizes the fish is the best I’ve tasted and the staff are very good as well. I am gonna go back there when I’m in St Albans and i am telling my mates to go as well.

I do not recommend this shop, fish and chips very greasy, the bottom of the box was thick with grease. Over priced for a meal I could not eat!

Trisha

Absolutely a lovely meal, HUGE portions and great tasting Fish & Chips. Well done FRYDAYS welcome to St Albans.

Julie

I had a fish n chips from there it was so so bad also very expensive, soggy chips oily, loyalty card is good but still expensive not worth it.!!!

Alex

Had fish and chips x2 from here. Wife and I were extremely disappointed. Staff couldn't have been nicer, but the chips (though plentiful) were soggy, the fish was fine, but the batter it was in was greasy and the oil it had been cooked it was obviously not hot enough as it had that doughy taste. Nearest fish and chip shop to me bit will not be returning again. Seriously find the five star reviews on here highly suspect based on our experience. Perhaps they've changed staff in 2011? Cracking chip shop, serves all the favourites plus a few extras such as Calamari. Shame they don’t do burgers.

Keith

Perfect chips. I know the quality of chips can be bad 1 hour to the next depending on how long they are sitting around for. But this place is consistently good.

Fry Days supplied over 50 sets of fish and pies with chips for our Probus Ladies Social. The food was excellent and came well packed and warm with cutlery, sauces, lemon slices etc. Delivered right on time to our venue.
