I am quite fussy about the kind of restaurant i select, especially when it comes to Indian food, however i must say that Veer Dhara impressed me incredibly. If you realise what real Indian food is all about, this is the place you want to go. In fact i visited India two years back and could not find any Indian restaurant here which served food like I ate in India, however Veer Dhara seemed to do the job.

The Food is fresh and very tasty indeed. The Tandoori dishes we had (salmon, tandoori chicken and paneer) were all excellent and went very well with the range of home made pickles and chutneys. The main course was also very very good and hard to fault, the most amazing lamb curry, chicken tikka masala and chickpeas. The mushroom rice was also good and naan bread fluffy and soft. For dessert i had the gulab jamun, this was delicious. Parking was a little difficult, however when inside, the friendly staff told me there is a free evening car park at the back of restaurant/ (thats where i will be parking next time). The ambience of the restaurant is nice, it’s always buzzing and you enjoy the atmosphere. Service is spot on. Value for money in my opinion is WORTH EVERY PENNY. Absolutely perfect truly Indian food. I will be back for more thats for sure!

Oh boy! Do l love this place, the food is addictive,a real indian restaurant, it was so good l asked to meet the chef who is a delightful chap, l think he got a little scared when l threatened to kidnap him and take him home so he gladly gave me a couple of his recipes, how nice, l am looking forward to returning very very soon,

I have just returned from a fantastic buffet lunch at Veer Dhara. The food served was most certainly a notch above your usual Indian restaurant. A great choice from salads, starters, main courses and deserts. Most buffets are full of onion, this one was full of big chunks of meat. And also caters well for vegetarians. My little kids are not fully into spices yet so I asked them if any of the dishes were on the medium side. They said not to worry and they popped off and came back with a Korma. Now, that is what i call service. They also had a magician which is a great idea, not that my 2 years olds had a clue what was going on, but I loved it.

Hot N Spicy

The decor and atmosphere in this restaurant is excellent - and more importantly, the fish and vegetarian selection is unsurpassed. We had a very enjoyable meal with excellent service. There were choices on the menu that I have never seen in an Indian restaurant before, and I felt that the food was authentically Indian. It was a bit pricier than standard Indian restaurants, but worth it. A nice place for a special meal, rather than an everyday curry.

Veer Dhara is the Best Curry Restaurant in St Albans - FACT! The food tastes amazing, the perfect level of spice, the meat is tasty, they must use a high end butcher as the chicken tastes like chicken and not that rubbish you get from usual Indian Restaurants. I can’t praise Veer Dhara enough. Was also great to get a free cocktail with the loyalty card.

Curry Connoisseur

The saying you get what you pay for is very true. Veer Dhara is by far the best curry house in St Albans. It may cost a few pounds more than your average but it’s most certainly worth it. I have sampled the lunch express which is fantastic value up to the top of the menu from the a la carte in the evening. These guys know what they are doing, if you haven’t been, then i suggest you give them a go.

I have just got back to the office from going to restaurant for lunch and have to express my delight at the lunchtime express menu options and its pricing. I paid around £6 for a huge lunch. The client I was with also loved it and I may have won a new account. Thanks Veer Dhara!
