Sarah has been with the Salon for 4 years as Saturday staff and is a valuable member of the team, now full-time and part way through her training is looking for a variety of different models to complete her knowledge and assessments to qualify as a stylist. There may be a small charge for this to cover the cost of products used for colour. Please ring the salon for more details and to check availability.

I’d not been to a salon for 15 years or so but thought I’d treat myself. I have quite short hair (balding) but the owner managed to create something that i was proud to leave the shop and show my mates. I even had product in it. The service was top notch. I had a great head massage whilst getting my hair washed and vibrating chairs to relax me even further. Women have had it too easy, it’s time us lads started getting more pampering. Normally I hate having to talk when getting my hair cut. But all the girls in the salon were a true joy to talk to. I even had a beer whilst getting my hair cut. I have left it 15 years too late and will most definitely be going back to Sarah Iovane Hair.

The salon is simply the best in St Albans. The staff really do look after your every need, even down to the latest magazines to read. I visited Sarah Iovane hair for the first time. I was very pleased with my hair cut, which was cut and blow-dried beautifully. I always find my hair a struggle as its so thick and fluffy, but now i don't have to do much to it in the morning which is fantastic and saves a lot of time before work. Its amazing how much one hair cut can change your life. My overall experience was great and i'll defiantly be a regular to the salon.

I came to Sarah's a few months ago with awful hair - I'd had a major chain brand cut my hair (although with the job they did they might want to consider a career change to butcher).

The first thing that struck me about the salon was the friendly and unintimidating atmosphere - we've all had the experience of walking into a hairdresser and being treated like you're an idiot and just generally been looked down upon.

I explained to Sarah that I needed to fix my awful hairstyle, and to my pleasant surprise she had a chat with me about what I wanted to achieve for my locks long term, which is a question I've never been asked by a stylist before. It seems other hairdressers just want to give you what THEY want to do, with no real consideration for what your personal style or wants are.

I explained I wanted my long hair back (which was at this point only 2 inches long and longer in the back than the front - not a good look, mullets went out in the 80's!). So she explained very truthfully that it would take a couple of cuts to get my hair at one length rather than making me believe I would walk out of the salon looking absolutely fabulous.

So many others would have just offered to cut it shorter all over (the easy option and doesn't take the level of skill required to make a hair plan) which is the exact opposite to what I wanted.

What she did do though, was very artfully cut my hair so that the shorter bits blended in nicely and actually looked like I meant to look like that. I came back six weeks later and was again pleasantly surprised that she remembered me and what I was trying to achieve, and then cut my hair exquisitely into a neat little bob. I've still got some growing out to do, but my hair looks polished and pretty now.

My experience with Sarah was, hands down, THE best salon experience I have ever had. I would recommend going to her if, like me, you've 1) Had someone cut your hair who should probably be working with a hatchet instead of scissors, 2) You want someone who will actually listen to what YOU want, 3)are generally disillusioned with big chains (cough toni and guy cough) and the way they make you feel horrible about yourself or 3) you just want a great haircut at reasonable prices. I will never go anywhere else ever again!
